Before I started eating 100% raw vegan, I had some pretty serious digestion woes. I tried all sorts of things but my poor tummy would begin to bloat and ache only moments after eating. I'd wake up in the morning with a flat belly and by 10am I'd feel uncomfortable in my own clothes.
Around the same time I started to research the raw vegan lifestyle, I also discovered the science food combining. I read about it at first and then forgot all about it - it seemed complicated and more trouble than it was worth. Boy, was I wrong! I recently went back to my research and brushed up on my food combining, only to discover that one of my favourite smoothies - strawberry banana - was most likely a huge culprit in my regular tummy distress!
I set about looking for an alternative to my strawberry banana smoothie that was still delicious and followed proper food combining rules. And as a result, the Sexy Breakfast Smoothie was born!
In some ways, I actually prefer it. I absolutely love the taste of strawberries, and often found that they would get overpowered by the sweetness of the banana.
This beautiful green smoothie is packed with vitamins, protein, omega-3, and of course, yumminess that will totally tantalize your taste buds! The key is making sure your mangoes are fully ripe. They will add a succulent mouth watering sweetness that is, at least in my opinion, a rather sophisticated upgrade from strawberry banana. Talk about a great way to start your day!
Sexy Strawberry Smoothie
Here's What You'll Need:
- 15 Strawberries (mine were small/medium)
- 1 Mango
- 2 cups/handfuls Kale
- 4-5 Ice Cubes
Pop everything into your blender et voilà! Delicious, nutritious morning smoothie.
